Faenza

A small city of the North-est of Italy, surrounded by hills and green valleys, Faenza has gained worldwide fame for its long standing history of pottery, particularly hand painted glazed ones, so much so that it became home of the International Museum of Ceramics. Recognized worldwide as one of the highest pinnacles of the art of ceramics, the city gave the name to the traditional creations that have been made there for centuries now. The traditional faience, also called majolica is a glazed terracotta tile with hand painted decorations on a white background. Over the years, the traditional majolicas took on different looks as artists followed specific trends going on not only in the Italian scene, but also all over Europe.

The Faenza collection takes inspiration from the classic majolica look, the vibrant colors creating designs that stand out against the simple background. With a selection of primary shades and a combination of multiple designs, we created a graphic that makes the perfect backsplash for kitchens, bathrooms and cafes, giving an homely look to any environment.

Each tile has been handpainted in our design studio and then assembled in a sheet in randomized order, so that every installation can be different from the other.
