When thinking of Italy, it is easy to think about all the beautiful cities all over the country. Out of all of them, one of the most famous, and probably one of the most visited cities in the world is Venice. Known worldwide for the characteristic gondolas and the beauty of a city that was built in the middle of a lagoon, Venice has different areas that are less well known by the general public but are equally as picturesque. Burano is one of the islands that is part of the Venetian lagoon; small in comparison to the main island, it has become famous as a tourist attraction for the colorful homes that brighten up the roads, that has attracted local artists.

Besides the colorful houses, one of the other main characteristics of Burano is the traditional lacemaking with needles, a skill that has been used by women of the island for centuries and was a big part of their trades in the past. With our Burano collection, we wanted to honor the history and tradition of this part of Venice that has been overlooked over the years, by showcasing the vibrant colors of the houses and the beauty of the lace.

Each tile showcases a subtle lace print that looks almost 3D when combined with the background color of the tile, which is usually a soft shade that ties back to the ones used in the island. When deciding on the shades to use, we selected a few solid colors that would look beautiful as a full wall look, and mixed some of them to create a selection of blend for a more eclectic look.
